The One More Night Festival

Back by popular demand, The Box Toronto is proud to announce its third annual One More Night Festival, happening in 2015
From Patron's Pick and Critic's Choice, to Sold-Out houses and Rave Reviews, 12 of the most in-demand and successful productions from the GTA and beyond will come together to perform one more night of magic at The Box Toronto!

  • What is the One More Night Festival?

Thursday, September 10th to Sunday, September 13th, 2015

The One More Night Festival will run from Thursday, September 10th to Sunday, September 13th, 2015 at The Box Toronto: Studio and Theatre. A 50 seat theatre located at 89 Niagara Street, Toronto, ON.

  • The Festival provides productions an opportunity to perform their existing show for "one more night" in the heart of Downtown Toronto.

  • Perfect for:
    - Shows that have been previously produced out of town
    - Productions that played to sold out houses
  • - Writers who would love to see their work again
  • - Artists who want one more chance to tell their story
  • - Anyone wishing to pick up momentum on their show for future performances
  • Registration:

    12 spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis!

    To register, please send the following to

    a) The name of your company

    b) The name of your show

    c) Phone number and email of your primary contact

    d) The number of participants

    e) The length of your show

    f) A brief synopsis

    g) The $100.00 participation fee (payable by e-transfer or credit card)

    h) Any other info you think we should have.

    Tickets will be sold for $15.00 each. 90% of the box office proceeds will be returned to the companies involved. The Box Toronto is a 50 seat theatre.

    Applications for this year’s One More Night Festival open Friday, July 10th, 2015. The deadline to submit your application is on Friday, August 7th, 2015 at 5:00 PM. The festival is limited to 12 spots on a first-come, first-serve basis. Application forms can be found on our website at

    Within 48 hours of registration, the applicant must send their script and pay the participation fee of $100.00 by e-transfer or credit card. E-transfers can be sent to For credit cards, please call 416 949 9252.

  • Festival Info

    The Festival House Rules

    1. Depending on each show’s requirements, all participants can be given one 30 minute, 60 minute or 90 minute time-slot to perform their show.

    2. Tickets will be sold on for $15.00, plus service fee (from the website) or will be available at the box office for $15.00, cash only.

      3. 90% of Box office and online-sale proceeds will be returned to the participating productions.

      4. All shows will be allotted 30 minutes prior to their scheduled performance time and 15 minutes after. (20 minutes to set up and 10 minutes to let in audience members, 15 minutes to tear down and vacate the theatre).

      5. The Box Toronto will pay Participant’s portion of advanced ticket sales 48 hours following the end of their performances. A cheque will be available for pick-up at an arranged place and time or an e-transfer can be sent.

      6. The company with the highest attended performance will win a rental package at The Box Toronto, valued at $300.00!!

      7. Participants will also receive the following:
      a) Either 3 hours of tech/rehearsal time between September 4th and September 11th with one professional technician
      b) Use of our house plot and programmable lighting board.
      c) A 2’ x 3’ storage space for any props, costumes, set pieces associated with your production
      d) Free promotion and advertising from The Box Toronto and inclusion in our Press release that will be sent to all major media outlets in Toronto
      e) A Brown Paper Tickets page to sell tickets in advance, managed by The Box Toronto
      f) A spot to promote your show on The Box Toronto website.
      g) Front of house staff to handle box office and ushering your guests to their seats
      h) A special rate of $12.50/hour for additional rehearsals booked at The Box Toronto for your One More Night Festival performance (4 consecutive hour minimum, subject to availability of the studio).

  • How it Works

    Participants are Responsible for The Following:
    1) Set up and tear down of the sets, props, costumes.

    2) Advertising and promotion of their show, in addition to what is provided by The Box Toronto

    3) All costs directly related to the production, communication, marketing and promotion of their performances including, but not limited to, all expenses related to costumes, props and set pieces, actor(s), director, stage manager, lighting and sound design.

    4) a $500.00 damage deposit, in the form of a cheque, or a credit card number will be required by all participating companies (This must be presented at the time of your tech rehearsal). This cheque is not cashed, it is kept on file for the duration of your rental and participation in the festival. If there is any damage or clean up required as a result of a productions’ participation in the festival, the cost of repair, replacement or clean up will be taken out of the damage deposit and any remaining amount will be returned to the participating company.
